Flowers in lax, branched clusters, petals deeply notched.
The pinkish calyx tube is inflated, bladder-like, with 6 teeth at the edge of the calyx.
Leaves
Linear narrow blade leaf, like grass, Lanceolate leaf is lance-shaped: long and widest in the middle, Elliptic oval leaf. Variable from linear to long to oval, opposite on the stem, fleshy.
Fruits Seeds
Capsule: with 6 teeth.
Edible
Leaves and shoots: edible when young.
