“After much consideration, I am moving onward with a combination of disappointment at leaving behind a character I have loved playing for seven years and excitement of the new opportunities in acting and producing that lie ahead,” the actress, who plays Dr. Lisa Cuddy on the Fox medical drama, said in a statement. “House” will return for an eighth season.
Edelstein’s departure will be especially disappointing to fans of Huddy, the name given to on-again-off-again couple Dr. Cuddy and Dr. House, played by Hugh Laurie. At least we’ll still have the Huddy fan videos on YouTube.
