Distribution and Habitat

Bridgetown to Tone River, growing in clay and sandy-clay soil on the edges of seasonally wet flats and creek lines.

Description

A rare, late flowering subspecies 160–400 mm high with a hairy leaf 100–170 mm long by 5–12 mm wide and up to two creamy-white flowers 60–90 mm across.

Distinguishing Features

It is distinguished from the similar subsp. redacta by its broader labellum and later flowering period (peaking in late October, compared to mid-September for subsp. redacta). From the co-occurring Christmas Spider Orchid (C. serotina) it is distinguished by its earlier flowering period.
