About Alocasia Portodora
Alocasias, commonly known as Elephant Ears, are some of the most common houseplants although their leaves can reach enormous sizes when grown outdoors! 🐘 They typically only support a few leaves at a time (more, when they get more sun!) so don't be concerned if you see an old leaf begin to retire after a new one emerges. They grow out of underground corms which are similar to bulbs, so next time you repot keep an eye out for baby Alocasias! They contain calcium oxalate crystals so be sure to keep them out of reach if you have children or pets! ⚠️

How to fertilize Alocasia Portodora
Most potting soils come with ample nutrients which plants use to produce new growth.
By the time your plant has depleted the nutrients in its soil it’s likely grown enough to need a larger pot anyway.
To replenish this plant's nutrients, repot your Alocasia Portodora after it doubles in size or once a year—whichever comes first.

Leafs dying? Hey there, Two weeks ago, my Alocasia started sprouting a new leaf. A few days later, I noticed the oldest leaf bending and turning yellow. And today, another leaf is dying! What's going on? Is it normal or should I be worried? I really don't get it. It was fine until now. 😔 #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #help #alocasiahelp

My Alocasia is changing colour When I first got her she was da right green stem though now it’s turning purple, is this something to worry about? Still putting our new leaves and seeming healthy though a bit worried, I didn’t notice until I compared the photos from when I first got her. #HappyPlants #PlantsMakePeopleHappy #AlocasiaAddicts

What are those spot on my Alocasia? Hey everyone, So, I noticed those spots forming on the leaf of my Alocasia. They just started being a different shade of green and then became white like this. I don't see any bugs on the plant so I was thinking too much sun as it was right in front of the window and we are starting to get a lot more sun now. So I moved the plant a bit farther away to a spot she liked last year. I'm planning on repotting it soon too. And I'm always careful with watering. I check that the soil is dry before watering every time. FYI, it's the only leaf left on this plant. It only had two for the last few months and one of them became yellow and died a few weeks ago. What do you guys think it is? Thank you!! #alocasiaaddicts #alocasia #help
