2 x Osu – Abere fruit – Hunteria Umbellata – Organic Fruit (Frozen)

This is OSU FRUIT with the Botanical name of Hunteria Umbellata from southern Nigeria. It is called “OSU” (Edo), “NKPOKIRI” (Ibo), and “ERIN” (Yoruba).

The plant grows well in West Africa and it belongs to the family Apocy-naceae. The fruit is about 5.10 – 5.25 cm in diameter, Green -Yellow – Orange, containing disc-shaped seeds embedded in a gelatinous pulp.

It is claimed in Nigeria Traditional medicine & Google to be Very Highly Effective in Lowering Blood Sugar level in the body

Uses:

The fruit is washed and diced, then soak in water. The seeds should be cleaned with water, dried and soaked in water and left in the fridge. You can drink the water which will have a  bitter taste.
